Congratulations to Adam Mesbur & Nick Fitzgibbon who continued their recent rich vein of form by winning the Master Pairs over the weekend.  This represents their fifth victory in this event as a pair, with each of them also having won it once in a different partnership.

The Master Pairs is a Swiss competition, so it’s easy to identify who is in the lead, and Adam and Nick held the preferred table one spot for most of the weekend, with a comfortable lead at one stage.  However, they had to hold off a very spirited challenge from Derek O’Gorman & Terry Walsh, who eventually came second by a very small margin.  Martin Brady & Paul Delaney were third, with Diarmuid Reddan & Pat Quinn fourth.

Our thanks to Fearghal O’Boyle, Mairead Basquille, and Bernard Higgins for their usual efficient and calm directing.  A very large entry of 109 pairs kept them on their toes all weekend, and they were ably assisted by first-time caddies Faye and Rebecca.  Full results are here.
