Congratulations to the prizewinners in the national teams championships held in Athlone over the weekend of 27/28 April.

The Kelburne Cup (Open Teams) was won by the Western Region – Gay Keaveney, Enda Glynn, Paul Scannell, and David Walsh, with Dublin South – Paul Delaney, Tomás Roche, Martin Brady, David Dunne, and Sean O Lubaigh second, and South Munster – Deirdre Walsh, David O’Brien, Brian O’Neill, and George Hayes third.

The Bankers Trophy (Intermediate A Teams) was won by Mid-Leinster – Jim Rowley, Ronnie Woods, Vera Smith, and Ger Maher, with North Western – Pat Lyons, Joe Lalor, Anne Marie Keaney, and Eva Giblin second, and North Eastern – Martin T O’Brien, Paul Brennan, Martin J O’Brien, and Mary Moriarty third.

The Tierney Trophy (Intermediate B Teams) was won by Dublin South – Sari Winckworth, Bob Neilsen, Kerri Nolan, and Fiona McGoldrick, with South Midland – Brigid Ryan, Nora Kelly, Kathy Monks, and Chris Desmond second, and South Munster – David Sheehan, Alf Davis, Pat Twomey, and Tadhg Harrington third.

Dublin South won the Marie Cummins Trophy as the best-performing region overall. Well done to all, and thanks to Fearghal O’Boyle, Brian Lawlor, Huey Daley, and Mairéad Basquille for three excellently run competitions.
