The first weekend of the 2023 Camrose (home international) series takes place next weekend, 6-8 January, 2023. This will be the 80th running of this contest, although Ireland did not participate for a long period (from 1951-1997).

The venue is Belfast, at the La Mon Hotel & Country Club, and spectators are welcome. As hosts for the second weekend of the series, Ireland has two teams in the event. Representing Ireland, we have Mark Moran, John Carroll, Tom Hanlon, Conor Boland, Adam Mesbur, and Tommy Garvey, with NPC Gráinne Barton. Representing the CBAI are Martin Brady, David Dunne, Paul Delaney, Tomás Roche, Ciarán Coyne, and David Walsh, with NPC Derek O’Gorman.

You’ll find biographies of all the teams, and the schedule of play, in the event programme prepared by the hosts, the NIBU – https://nibu1.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Camrose-Programme_2023-Final-Website.pdf

The organisers have arranged for kibitzing of the play, for the entire event, via RealBridge. To kibitz, simply click https://kibitz.realbridge.online to join. No account is needed, just put your name in and click login. Then click on a table to watch that match. The first match on Friday starts at 7 p.m., but there is a time-delay on kibitzing for security reasons; you can follow the play from 7:30 p.m. onwards.

Best of luck to both the Irish teams.
