RealBridge and BAMSA (Bridge: A Mindsport for All) have combined to arrange a two-day conference on 8/9 October for bridge teachers, coaches, and mentors, with speakers from all around the world. Some material will be delivered live, while some has been pre-recorded; the entire conference will be recorded and made available online subsequently.

The past five years have seen a decline in newcomers to the game, for various reasons. But with this challenge comes opportunity. Communication is easier and faster nowadays; digital platforms and engagement channels are more likely to appeal to younger generations; there is more understanding of, and openness to, collaboration and co-operation. The topics to be discussed include:

  • Information on new approaches to teaching
  • Channels, ideas, and tools to market the game and practitioner services
  • Benefits of providing or earning accreditation
  • Personal development for teachers
  • Issues affecting youth players
  • The best ways to teach children and juniors
  • Approaches to coaching

It promises to be an interesting and informative conference. The schedule is divided into three three-hour sessions, and each individual presentation will take approximately 20 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes for Q&A. in Ireland, the sessions will start at 9:00 am and 9:30 pm on Saturday, and at 2 pm on Sunday. The full schedule will be available on the RealBridge and BAMSA websites closer to the event.
