We’re pleased to pass on the good news that the University of Stirling in Scotland has succeeded in securing PhD funding (3.5 years or Masters plus PhD 4.5 years) for a doctorate on youth, schools and mindsport education at the university.

The World Bridge Federation in collaboration with Bridge: A MindSport for All (BAMSA) is offering a studentship to research bridge as an educational tool in schools. International students are welcome to apply, but must be willing to move to central Scotland if successful. No prior knowledge of mindsport is required.

Professor Samantha Punch and the BAMSA team are looking for a social science student to join their research team – Bridge: A MindSport for All. For further information see:

Stakeholder Approach to the Pedagogical Possibilities and Practices of the Mindsport Bridge – Scottish Graduate School of Social Science

Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on 10 April, and references are due by 5 p.m. on 16 April. To apply go to apply.sgsss.ac.uk

Further academic work on the value of bridge to young people will be very welcome, and we wish Professor Punch and her team well with this project. It would be great if an Irish student were part of the research programme.
