Members are hereby notified that the Annual General Meeting of the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland will take place in the Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick, starting at 2 p.m. All paid-up members are entitled to attend. The traditional post-meeting game of bridge will be restored this season, and all are welcome to stay for that.
The nominations received for officer and honorary positions are set out here. Given that there is no more than a single nominee for each position, no vote will be required at the AGM on these nominations.
We have one resolution (“motion”) for the AGM, from the International Committee to amend Clause 4.1 of the CBAI Constitution, principally to bring our regulations on international eligibility into line with those of the international bridge organisations to whose competitions we send participants. You’ll find the resolution, and a brief outline of why the International Committee believes it is required, here. As a constitutional resolution, this will be voted on (by secret ballot) at the AGM, and will require a two-thirds majority to be accepted.
