Thanks to all the clubs who took part in the IBU Simultaneous Pairs competition. If you haven’t already uploaded your results, please do so as soon as possible. We would also welcome any feedback on the format or organisation of this competition.

The funds raised via these Simultaneous Pairs will make an important contribution to the IBU (a confederation of the CBAI and the NIBU which is responsible for sending teams to international competitions), which next year will have a large financial commitment next season, due to the happy circumstance that both our Open Team and (almost certainly) our Women’s Team have qualified from the recent European Championships to represent Ireland at the World Championships in Marrakech next summer.
Thanks also to our stable of expert analysts for this season, Brian Senior, Paul Delaney, and Enda Murphy, and also to the two teams going to Marrakech, each of which has submitted a commentary.

And if you do enjoy the experience and want to go again, or miss out and want to try your luck next time, you don’t have long to wait. Our first foray into the Celtic Nations Simultaneous Pairs, which in the case of the CBAI is to raise money specifically for junior bridge, will take place in the week of 5-9 December, with games on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and a combined game on Thursday/Friday.
