Thanks very much to all those clubs who are supporting this event. You are contributing very valuable funds to the IBU (a confederation of the CBAI and the NIBU which is responsible for sending teams to international competitions). The next European Championships are scheduled for Herning, Denmark, in June 2024, so the funds raised will go towards the expense of the four teams (Open, Women, Seniors, and Mixed) which will qualify in due course to represent Ireland there. Aside from the fundraising element, the consistent feedback is that our members enjoy these simultaneous pairs competitions, with the chance to see how they score across the entire country, and to learn from the expert commentaries provided. Preparatory information has been sent at this stage to all the clubs who have indicated that they will be participating, so if you are intending to play but haven’t received any instructions yet, please contact us.

You’ll find instructions on how to upload your results here – remember to put in the club name and the daily code for the tournament, which is on all the files your club has received.

The results, once uploaded, can be found on the ECATS website, which is also where your members should go to check their rankings in the national standings once you have uploaded your results. We will be awarding all the usual daily prizes, and masterpoints, again this season.

The daily commentaries will also be available on the ECATS site, and will also be uploaded here, once each nightly game has finished. They will also be sent to all the participating clubs for distribution. As in recent years, everything will be in digital form, with no printed booklets. Our thanks to our expert analysts for this season, Ranald Milne, Enda Glynn, Brian Senior, Peter Goodman, and Gay Keaveney.
