Many congratulations to the Irish Team, supplemented by one honorary Irishman, who successfully defended the prestigious invitational Lederer Trophy in London over the weekend. Mark Moran, John Carroll, Tom Hanlon, Frederic Volcker, Adam Mesbur, and Nick FitzGibbon came through victorious against the usual very high-class field to retain the trophy that they won last year. The team led for most of the way, and the margin of victory was a bit more comfortable that last year’s squeaker. Full results here.
This represents an excellent final tune-up for the team, with Conor Boland replacing Frederic Volcker, that will represent us in the second Camrose weekend, in Northern Ireland, in a few weeks’ time, holding a narrow lead after weekend 1. We wish them the best of luck for Camrose weekend 2.
