The CBAI’s Master Pairs competition was held over the weekend of 9/10 December. Thanks to our new sponsors, ALHomecare, whose Managing Director, Tom Quinlan, attended the Sunday session of the event to introduce his firm to CBAI members, and to join the presentation party for the prizegiving. There was an excellent turnout of 107 pairs from across the country, an increase of more than 25% on last year, which meant the Templeogue playing room was full to capacity. Our thanks to all who participated, and to our TD crew of Fearghal O’Boyle, Mairead Basquille, and Bernard Higgins, ably assisted by two caddies Emily and Orlagh, who made sure everything went smoothly.

The prizewinners were:

  • 1st John Carroll & Mark Moran
  • 2nd Conor Boland & Tom Hanlon
  • 3rd Pádraig Ó Briain & Micheál Ó Briain
  • 4th Nick FitzGibbon & Adam Mesbur

Master Pairs Winners 2023: John Carroll & Mark Moran

Master Pairs Runners-Up 2023: Conor Boland & Tom Hanlon

The two leading pairs, fittingly, are both part of the team representing Ireland in the Camrose Trophy in Newport in the first weekend of January, so it’s encouraging to see them in good form; we’re sure you’ll join us in wishing them the best of luck. Full results and board records here. Masterpointed results.
