Just a final reminder to clubs in relation to Masterpoints awarded for virtual and/or live games for the 2021/22 season. Your Masterpoint return should be sent to the CBAI before the closing date of 31 July to guarantee that it is included in the masterpoint run (and your players receive their awards) for the membership cards for the new season, which will be delivered in early September. If you cannot get your Masterpoint submission to us before that date, then you have the option either (a) to elect for average Masterpoints to be awarded across all your club members in accordance with the relevant club factor, or (b) to submit the return late and have it included in our next masterpoint run in December – but obviously in the latter case the awards will NOT be reflected on the members’ new cards in September. If your club was closed throughout the 2021/22 season, and therefore has no Masterpoints to report, we’d appreciate an email to that effect to info@cbai.ie, please.

Also we are pleased to report that the CBAI’s group public liability insurance scheme can be renewed on the same terms as last season – i.e. cover of €6.5 million and a premium of €105. The cover is due for renewal on 1 September, and we will be writing to all clubs shortly with a fresh proposal form. Alternatively, you can contact Diarmuid Reddan of Reddan Insurances directly by email to organise the cover yourself. Cheques should be made payable to Don Reddan (Insurances) Ltd, whose address is 19 The Crescent, Limerick Please do NOT send form or cheques to us here at the CBAI. This policy has been negotiated on behalf of the Association and therefore covers ONLY affiliated clubs, and it remains absolutely vital that ALL the members of your club are affiliated to the Association through your club as it is a specific requirement of the policy that this be so. Visitors are, of course, covered under the policy, but regular visitors must regarded as members and should be properly affiliated. A player who attends a club more than once per month should be required to join the club as a full member. For special circumstances (e.g. activities other than bridge that you need to cover, or additional cover for equipment), clubs are advised to speak to Diarmuid Reddan directly.
