The second Bridge International Championship (BIC) will be held on the BBO and Funbridge platforms, in partnership with the World Bridge Federation, over the period 27 March to 4 April on Funbridge, and 29 March to 4 April on BBO. This represents another exciting opportunity for Irish bridge players to challenge themselves against the world’s best, and to compete for global honour and glory as well as virtual prizes. You’ll be attempting to better the result of Kelan O’Connor, who was the leading Irish player in the last running of the BIC, finishing 43rd of more than 4,200 competitors.

The format of the competition is an initial qualifying phase (up to 1 April) and a subsequent championship finals phase (3 and 4 April). You’ll find full details regarding the Funbridge version here, and regarding the BBO version in the general messages on that site.

These events will qualify for CBAI Masterpoints, and the Association will benefit from a small proportion of the entry fees of Irish participants, so we would encourage everyone to give it a go. Best of luck and do us proud!
