We also had a strong Irish entry in the first EBL Online Women’s Teams Championship, with six completely Irish teams, and one Irish player playing as part of a Swiss Team. The 48 teams were divided into six flights of eight following a qualification round. The best result was achieved by Ireland (Hilary Dowling-Long McDonagh, Gilda Pender, Jeannie Fitzgerald, Joan Kenny, Siobhan Part, Teresa Rigney, Lucy Phelan (NPC), and Louise Mitchell (Coach)), who came fourth in the qualifying round and finished seventh overall. The Kamana team (Anna Carr, Margaret Farren, Aoife MacHale, Antoinette McGee, Noreen Pender, Kathleen Vaughan, Deirdre O’Halloran, Orla McEntee) came ninth in the qualifying round, just missing out on the top flight, and finished tenth overall. Well done to all who took part.
