Thanks to Tournament Director Brian Lawlor, and to BBO operators Martin Brady, Luca Crone, and Sean Maguire, who ensured the playoff could be watched on BBO, an approach we intend to continue if possible with next season’s trials.

Finally, we note from Sunday’s Independent newspaper that John Comyn is hanging up his pen after more than fifty years as the paper’s bridge correspondent. On behalf of all bridge players, our thanks to John for his long and distinguished service. We understand that the paper has a replacement planned, so that readers will continue to see bridge featured every Sunday.
