Many congratulations to England, who completed a clean sweep of the home international series this season by winning the Teltscher Trophy (Senior Camrose) over the weekend in Stirling, Scotland. The victorious team was Roger Bryant, Nick Smith, David Kendrick, Trevor Ward, Kay Preddy, Norman Selway, and NPC David Jones.
It was another close finish, with the hosts in the lead until the final few boards, but playing England, their nearest challengers. A couple of late swings were enough to send the trophy England’s way by a final margin of just 0.6 VPs. Wales were third, the SBU fourth, Ireland fifth, and Northern Ireland sixth. The only match England lost was the one against Ireland, but our team could not produce the same form in the other matches over the weekend.
